David J. Lutz, M.D., F.A.A.P.M.R. Physical Medicine/Rehabilitation

Dr. David Lutz received his medical degree and graduated with academic honors from the Brody School of Medicine in Greenville, NC, part of the University of North Carolina Health System. His undergraduate degree was earned in chemical engineering from North Carolina State University in Raleigh, NC, where he graduated with Summa Cum Laude honors. Dr. Lutz finished his residency in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at the Brody School of Medicine, where he was also chief resident. In addition, he completed postgraduate work at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN. Dr. Lutz is double board certified in both Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation and in the field of Pain Medicine. He treats patients at the Lutheran Hospital campus, Dupont Hospital campus and at the Wabash County Hospital outpatient center. Dr. Lutz’s practice focuses on the non-surgical care of spine, pain and musculoskeletal problems.  His goal is to maximize patients’ level of function and minimize pain through non-surgical means. This approach uses therapies, medications and injections when necessary. Dr. Lutz also specializes in electromyography/nerve conduction study (EMG) testing to determine whether nerve or muscle injury is present.

Dr. Lutz enjoys seeing the progress patients can make via non-surgical means. He is very gratified by seeing patients' lives change, often in a short period of time. He has a genuine concern for his patients’ overall well-being, he listens, and he understands that living with pain is really not living.
 
When not at the office, Dr. Lutz enjoys spending time with his wife and three children, church, water sports, fishing, travel, snow skiing, tennis and fitness.
